The K2 Management Console is a crucial part of any K2 Project. You can manage workflow tasks, workflow roles & permissions, server rights, specify working hours as well as view and manage workflow errors.
K2 Automated Testing Software
rnBenchQA allows full test automation of K2, including fully automated K2 SmartForms and K2 Workflow testing. It promotes test driven development for K2 and ensures continued quality assurance for K2 solutions. Easily apply changes to test cases to accommodate changes to K2 apps and ensure all apps are regression tested to avoid defects and assure continuous quality.
One of the features in the K2 Management Console is the ability to not only manage the different processes in your workflow, but it also gives you access to past and current deployments. If you select your workflow & process, you will see a “Versions” menu item. In this view you have access to all deployed versions where you can choose the default version of the process, delete processes or download a copy of the code file.

When a process is in error state, it can be frustrating to try and find out what the exact error is. In the K2 Management Console you can view all workflow errors by selecting the “Error Profiles” menu item and then viewing “All”.
In the error profiles view you can view detailed error information and you can retry the process once you have fixed the problem.

Process rights can also be set in the K2 Management Console individually for each workflow process. If a specific user / group does not have the correct process permissions they will not be able to action items in that specific workflow process.

Different profiles can also be set up for custom working hours & special days. We will cover in a later topic how to integrate these profiles into your code.
On the first tab in the working hours configuration you can select a timezone setting.
K2 Console – Working Hours – 5
On the second tab in the working hours configuration you can select the actual working hours that will be valid for that specific profile.

On the third tab in the working hours configuration you can specify special and exception dates eg. bank holiday, religious holidays etc.
You can also view all the current workflow items from within the K2 Management Console. In this view you can assign tasks to different users or release them.
K2 Management Console – Worklist – 8
If you want to view the tasks within its own workflow process, you can do that also from within the K2 Management Console. If you open a workflow item from the left menu and select the “Instances” menu item, the main view will populate with a list of all the current activities for that specific workflow. You will then again be able to manage these activities.
