Strategic Growth and Innovation: Velocity IT has been acquired by Core Technology Systems

Core Technology Systems and Velocity IT

We are excited to announce the acquisition of Velocity IT by Core Technology Systems (Core), a leading managed service provider in the UK IT Channel. This acquisition is a significant step in both Velocity IT and Core’s strategies for growth and innovation.

This acquisition is a significant step in Core’s strategy to drive growth and innovation, aligning with its objective to exceed its £15m revenue target in 2024, and to strengthen Core’s portfolio with broadened AI and automation capabilities.

Established more than 33 years ago, Core Technology Systems (Core) is renowned for transforming businesses through Microsoft technology and managed services. Demonstrating over 50% organic growth in the last three years, and completing the acquisition of Scotland-based CompanyNet Limited in 2022. Core’s commitment to excellence has been recognised through prestigious awards including winning CRN’s Cloud Services Provider of the Year and Best Company to Work For (sub £100m) in 2023.

As a trusted Microsoft Solutions Partner with Advanced Specialisations in Modern Work and Security, Core specialises in cloud technology, professional services, and managed services; helping organisations optimise operations, enhance security, and improve user experiences. Their dedicated team and comprehensive service offerings demonstrate a steadfast commitment to empowering clients’ success in the digital era, and they are a current finalist for MSP of the Year in the 2024 Comms Business Awards, and a finalist for five awards in the CRN Sales and Marketing Awards, including Best Company to Work For (sub £100m).

Core operates on a hybrid working model with employees based across England, Scotland, Poland and Ireland, and a head office near Liverpool Street in London. Core has a strong leadership team led by Conor Callanan (CEO), Rye Austin (CCO), Asif Sadiq (COO) and David McGloin (CFO).

Velocity IT is known for our expertise in business process automation (BPA) and robotic process automation (RPA), and more recently, artificial intelligence (AI). Velocity IT, led by CEO, Arno van Rooyen, has established a strong reputation through work with prestigious clients across a variety of sectors including healthcare, manufacturing, insurance, and local and regional government. With a dedicated team based in Milton Keynes and across the UK, we have demonstrated a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

“Velocity IT is a perfect fit for Core, not just in terms of technology and expertise, but also in culture and values,” said Conor Callanan, CEO of Core Technology Systems. “This acquisition is a growth story. It’s about bringing together two like-minded companies that share a vision for innovation and excellence. We are excited to welcome Arno and his team to the Core family, and to be able to expand our offering and value provided to our customers.”

Velocity IT’s leadership in automation will complement Core’s existing services, adding significant value to Core’s portfolio and offering new opportunities for innovation, particularly in AI and application development.

This acquisition also augments Core’s capabilities in Dynamics CRM, and brings additional and new skills in Power BI, AI, Power Apps and low/no code technologies, strengthening Core’s position in the market, and expanding its partner ecosystem.

Arno van Rooyen will remain a key stakeholder in the business, leading the Velocity IT team and ensuring continuity in service excellence. “Joining forces with Core represents an incredible opportunity for growth and expansion,” said Arno. “We are thrilled to become part of a company that shares our values as well as our passion for technology and innovation.”

This acquisition underscores both Core and Velocity IT’s commitment to growth and innovation, expanding service offerings, and enhancing capabilities to better serve their customers.

As Core and Velocity IT embark on this exciting new chapter, we look forward to delivering even greater value to our clients, employees, and stakeholders.
